Our CEO & Chief Pilot
Captain Douglas Tragonach began flight services with one simple maintenance hangar and a JetRanger helicopter at the former JB International Airport on July 19, 2011. Shortly afterwards, the airline purchased the new Falcon 2000 from EG Aircraft of France. The 'Star of Erie' unveiled a new livery for the company.
Before the closure of JB International, Irelandia Airlines relocated Flight Operations at New Horizons International Airport, allowing for expansion of services, and the addition of another Falcon 2000, the 'Rose of Tralee'.
With jet services to all major airports within the region, Irelandia expanded it's commuter flight services to the smaller regional airports with the purchase of the outstanding DR-400 Robin, again from EG Aircraft. With its eventual entry into the luxury Air Tours market, irelandia added the 'Lady Heath', a Moffitt Airship to its fleet, and beagn tours to the United Sailing Sims, 'new' New England, and the assorted 'pirate' and 'tropical' themed islands of the area.
Services grew steadily during its first year of operations, and Irelandia eventually became one of only a few airlines still in service within the region. In celebration of both the historic State Visit to Ireland by HM The Queen in May 2011, and the airline's first anniversary, Captain Tragonach announced a new addition to Irelandia's hangars - a new ATR 42-600 regional airliner. The 'Queen Elizabeth II' was inaugurated in July 2011.
The new aircraft was followed by the introduction of the 'Mercedes-Benz' styled EC-145 Eurocopter at the 2011 Second Life Summer Aviation Festival, being held at Yumix-Japan International Airport. The new 'Mist of the Seas' is the first exclusively designed luxury helicopter, and Irelandia was especially honoured to be the first metaverse airline to receive delivery of this outstanding aircraft. With the addition of the Eurocopter, Irelandia Airline's service to the SS Galaxy and several exclusive locations expanded.
To date, Irelandia Airlines serves all major airports within the region with over fifteen destinations.
